The Central European Girls’ Basketball League is one of the most exciting sports initiatives in the region, aimed at developing young players and raising the standard of women’s basketball. The league brings together teams from various Central European countries, creating a unique platform for competition, the exchange of experiences, and the building of international relationships.
The league was established with the aim of creating an environment in which young female basketball players can compete at a high level from an early stage in their careers. The main objectives of the competition include:
– developing the players’ sporting skills,
– promoting women’s basketball,
– bringing together sporting communities from different countries,
– preparing young players for professional senior leagues.
Thanks to the league’s international nature, players have the opportunity to face different styles of play, which significantly influences their tactical and mental development
Taking part in the league offers young female basketball players a tremendous opportunity for development. Regular high-level games teach discipline, teamwork and how to cope with pressure. In addition, the players gain international experience, which is invaluable for their future sporting careers.
In the 2026/2027 season, the CEGBL competition will be held in two age categories: U13 – 2014 and younger and U15 – 2012 and younger. To optimize transportation costs, the CEGBL competition are scheduled for clubs from Central Europe.
